The White Mountain Four Thousand Footers

This list includes the 48 four thousand footers in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

The Grid Trust Advisory runs the White Mountains Grid website to keep track of those who have completed the tremendous accomplishment of hiking each of the 48 New Hampshire 4,000 footers in each of the twelve months of the year — that's 576 climbs! There are well over a hundred hikers who have finished the New Hampshire White Mountains Grid, the earliest in 1989. But things really got going in the early 2000's and hikers are even gridding the New England 67 and Northeast 115 now. Of course, there are multiple grid finishers as well as gridders who completed an entire grid as seniors! There are many other interesting hiking challeges and information on the website of interest to avid peak baggers of the New England.

This list includes the 5 four thousand footers in the Green Mountains of Vermont.

The Adirondack 46ers recognizes the completion of the 46 Adirondack four thousand footers.

Trailwrights 72 Summits Club

Purpose: To provide an opportunity and a challenge to the serious hiker in a mountain environment; to develop his or her skills in areas of navigation on and off trails; to spread the impact of hikers over a larger area and less often visited peaks; to discover each peak as a unique entity; and to give the hiker a well-rounded experience in mountain weather and topography; and to provide an awareness of stewardship for the trails we enjoy.

Requirements: Hike to and from the 72 peaks on the official list, and complete 72 hours of documented trail work.

Terrifying 25

This list includes White Mountain (NH) hiking trails that have slides, rock scrambles, and boulder caves. This list is not inclusive of every single slide/cave route in the Whites. It is, however, representative of the more "interesting" White Mountain trails for the intrepid New Hampshire hiker.
